"Ring around the burning man"

Films: The Wicker Man (1973)

Alias: Various, including Lord Summerisle

Type: Natural

Location: Civilized area

Height/Weight: That of an average human.

Affiliation: Evil

Summary: Don't. Use. Religion. As an excuse. To kill people! We get that this is supposed to be a pagan religion, but c'mon! We should be over offering Gods sacrifices by now!

History: Somewhere in the Scottish lands, there is the island of Summerisle. Here, it is said that the plentiful fruit trees were a result of the Gods looking proudly upon the place. Since then, the civilians have organized pagan Celtic religion there. Bad news for a devout Christian investigator looking for a girl there.

Notable Kills: See Final Fate.

Final Fate: The girl wasn't the sacrifice, the investigator was. In defiance, the man tells Lord Summerisle that the harvests keep failing regardless of any sacrifices. His words fall on deaf, yet now uncertain, ears, and he's stuffed into a giant man made of wicker that gets burned to the ground.

Powers/Abilities: None.

Weakness: Anything conventional.

Scariness Factor: 3.5-There's something to be said about an entire island population motivated not by hunger or madness, but religion. It really makes you grateful that we're not living in the days of pagan sacrifice.

Trivia: -This film was made possible because at the time, Christopher Lee (Lord Summerisle) wanted to break the norm of his Hammer Productions career, and got into this movie.

-The titular Wicker Man was based on the accounts of Julius Caesar, and how he'd see old French natives burn criminals in such structures.

This the day the sun closes on Summerisle...forever.

"Today Anthrocon. Tommorrow the world!"

Smug little fools.

"Frank, that's not an animal mask. Back of the line."
Otherwise, he'll spit sharpened twigs at you with his non-existant mouth!

Come on. One well placed rock will bring that thing down.

"Whoever says my outfit is silly will be burned as well!"
